RE: Warbird Race - Morgan Hill, CA - October 2nd
Well my .75 Mustang survived the SAMs race so I'll be running that and .46 modified.
Most likely a stock Phoenix Strega unless I can the new foam wing for it done in time.
Seeing how fast Speed Racer's Macchi is, I am motivated to get the wing done.
Looking forward to it.
Having attended two SAMs races now with a Stock .75 WM Mustang in Silver, I can say that is a good combo to run in both our races and SAMs silver.
If I run a good race with no cuts, I have been between 2:02 and 2:10 each time. (With 12 cuts trying to chase down Rick and James 1.10 Mustangs in the last heat I was at 1:48. Needless to say we all broke out).

GETERDONE!! Its all in the wing, the Macchi has an airfoil quite close to what I used when competing F3B sailplanes. You are welcome to come over and we can bag the skins on the cores. Big time saver.
The Macchi still has some speed on the table. I am quite anxious to see what she does without breakout times.

It was good to have both of you and your wives/(girlfriends?) at the SAMs Tres Kahuna Classic.
It was fun visiting with Joe and his other half on the Saturday night BBQ dinner and mixer and camp out we have at the field.
I hope we didn't scare you off with our behavior during that little outing.
I plan to attend the Morgan Hill event once again with my 190 for the 120 class and my soon to be finished P-40Q for the Unlimited.
I will probably be traveling again with my friend Marcelo and his daughter the Bronze class terror Bianca.
All depending on how things roll at the Trashman Classic 2 day race at SAMs on the 25-26 of September.

Well I got my Strega with OS .46 with Nelson muffler test flown last weekend. Currently all stock.
Got custom wing cores that I am going to try and vacuum bag this weekend.
Going to be overseas for next week so that is going to eat into prep time.
Looking forward to it.

I would have loved to seen your warbird races while I was out at your field. I just got back from a trip out to california when I visted some family and friends and we stayed at the campground that is right near the entrance to your guys flying field. I got one of your news letters and saw quite a few interesting events that I would have like to seen but Im too far away now[sm=cry_smile.gif]

Anyone going to be out testing tomorrow?
I've got my 140 back together and buttoned up the plane this morning. I've got a gallon each of 50% and 60% fuel, and some BIG props to test out. [sm=wink_smile.gif]

Hey Chris,
Should be someone out there to help you on a Saturday. My flying season is done for the year so you probably will not catch me out there.
By the way, I have a new gallon of Nitro that James brought me to replace the one that was borrowed. I also have a couple more gallons as well from the buy earlier this year. Let me know if you need any. Let me know by Sept. 29th if you want it as Iwill be out of commission for the weeks following due to the surgery.

Hey Kevin,
I figured someone would be out there. I mainly just need someone to hold it while I start it near the flightline.
You borrowed a gallon from me? I can't remember. I have three fresh gallons of nitro at home.
Good luck with your surgery and baby.

Sounds good.
Sorry...lack of wording. Mark borrowed a gallon from me and replaced it with the gallon James brought me. I meant to really say is that I have a fresh gallon at home if you needed it. .

Hey James,
The DaSilva's were nice enough to offer me a ride over to your race.
Looks like the silver FW-190 will be there for the 120 class.
And this time we won't be leaving early.
By the way..... Babe gonna be there? [X(]
