Is there any info on the Las Vegas Race such as a flyer or such. I am interested in that race. What location has been set?

Hey Kevin,

So far this is what I have for the Vegas race. It will be held on May 22. The location will be within the Lake Mead Recreation area, basically right on the shore of Lake Mead. We have a location locked up with the Park Service but there is a miniscule chance it might move up the road a short distance, (still within the Park). There are a few items I need to get worked out before a real formal announcement is made but I can tell you for sure that come hell or high water there will be a race in Vegas on May 22. I am hoping to get a chance to meet with the others in the know in Phoenix in a couple of weeks and gain some more knowledge and once that happens, I will get the flyer and information together.

As a side note, in case anyone is interested, there are some nice hotels in Boulder City, just a stones throw away from where the race will be but keep in mind that gambling is not allowed in Boulder City, hence no casinos. Henderson is about 30 minutes or so from the site and there are some nice hotels and casinos there and the Las Vegas strip is 45 to 60 minutes away, depending on traffic. There is also a nice little RV park within about a mile of the site so that may be helpful as well. There is a $5.00 charge to get into the park per vehicle and I will make sure and get all this information out as soon as I get all the particulars gathered.

I really hope you and others from your crew can make it, it would be great to have you there!!!

Are we flying over the water or risk the chance of planting one in the water if a midair happens? Being on the shore of Lake Mead and as busy as that park is, will there be any issues with spectators or onlookers?

No, the Lake will be behind us and there won't be a problem with spectators. The overfly area is the old Hemingway campground that is now closed.
