Vario Hughes 500E Turbine 5-Blade Rotor Head Test Flight
Hello all,
After many months of conversion to a 5-bladed rotor head, I just posted our successful test flight video from 15 June on YouTube. You can watch it here (in HD):

A MASSIVE thank you to the following people who helped me convert this model to a scale 5-blade rotor and made the ride as smooth as possible:
Nigel Brackley (Modtron) - Advice, supply, service and many trips down to see me and set things up
Paul Heckles - Flight tests and final tweaks
Nick Kolias (seattle_helo) - Detailed blade painting advice, shortening of main shaft and many other useful bits with multi-head conversion. Nick has one of the most beautiful models of the Vario Hughes 500.
Mike Pattison - Advice on 5-blade conversion and many other bits. Mike also has one of the finest scale examples of this heli.
Dave Wilshere (Motors and Rotors) - Great advice and help whenever I bother him, supply and great service as always

But my resiliently dead father was a jet air craft mechanic, and had me infatuated with jet engines since my first flight on a plane. 30 years.
Where do I start????
