Century/funkey a109 hirobo shuttle plus .30
Hi rcu! First post so please be gentle Just thought i would share my Augusta 109 with you guys. Its a hirobo shuttle plus with an OS 37 engine, 401 gyro, throttle jockey pro governor and align 2 in 1 regulator. Fuselage is funkey a109 kit built .30 size. Paint is 2k solid black.
I also have on board retracts, scratch built to fit this fuselage and relatively scale in operation.
Let me know what you guys think and if any one needs more info on retracts (maybe your doing your own 109?) then feel free to ask.
cheers
phil

Well done!! I love your retracts, they look a lot better then the stock ones I have on mine with the Century Swift mechanics. I love how mine flies but sure would like some more scale looking retracts.
What head speed are you setting up for?
I turn mine at 1500.

Hey, thanks for that, glad you like the heli. The wheels did take a lot of head scratching and figuring out exactly where the servos should go to get the right swings and angles etc but they worked out well. The servos are powerful little retract servos. Couldn't tell you the head speed, all i know is its in the 'sweet spot'

Thanks for sharing Phild87, I have a Shuttle convert, using a Hacker A40 motor. It's planned to go in an Airwolf fuse I have. I like your retracts much better than the stock ones I presently have. I lack the skill to scratch build retracts, so I'll have to search around and find some at a reasonable price. I like that black also. Are you going to put some lights on it?

Hi Tman49, thanks for your comments. I am enjoying flying it at the minute and i would have to take it all apart to get a light set fitted so will probably hold off for a bit. I have considered it though.
Hows about sharing some pics? I haven't seen an electric shuttle conversion before. The paint is just standard 2 part (2k) gloss black sprayed through a small touch up gun. Nasty stuff though so you have to avoid breathing the fumes.

Nothing fancy here to show. However here's where it's at. I'm trying to finalize the set up so it can fly. Keep in mind it's going into the Airwolf fuse.
Pic of top of motor shows homemade motor mount w/vent holes. Hub of cooling fan used for spacing for original clutch assembly. (I like the way it spools up slowly.) Planning on using cooling fan when installed in fuse. I'm using two 3s 5kmah batteries in series, feeding a CC 100LITE esc, controlling a Hacker A40-10L 8 pole ET, GY520 w/S9254 for the tail, Hitec HS-300 on other controls.
