Default MD-530

Will the TT MD-530 scale fuse fit the Raptor Titan 50? Has anyone flown this combo with the TT 50H? DOes this ship have enough power? Was also considering the MD-500 with the TT 60 Raptor.

The TT MD fuse is a perfect fit for the Titan, if you use a V2 you have to trim about an inch off the body. I actually got a Titan boom, belt and rudder pushrod and stuck it on a V2 so I didnt have to cut the body.

I dont see why a TT 50 wouldnt have enough power. I only fly hypers in my 50s but for scale style flying I doubt it would be an issue. The body adds a little over a pound to the all up weight.

hey there , i have a tt md530 done up as a little bird ie replace the rockets with platforms lower the skid height and add an army ranger ,i hve fit an ergo mechanics into teh tt fuse which have all metal frames and are known to be a slightly heavy heli and i run the tt 50 pro and with all the extra weight of the fuse and the ranger and lights and seperate rx packs for the lights she comfortably pulls the heli around just over mid stick , i havent pushed it hard ,because i like to fly her scale but i do know she has more power than i use

ok guys had a busy weekend finishing off teh littlebird , first off was to finish teh apinting ,hten rivet patterns and access and inspection panels then a couple of arieals and finally redo the lights and paint the windsreen ,following is the detail pics and i am quiet happy with the outcome ,didnt go crazy with rivets as too many on a 50 size looks wrong plus on the real littlebird there arent that many rivet lines that stand out

some inspection panels with rivets and other detail

more rivet lines around the engine covers

rivet lines around the doors and fast rope system

ariels

more inspectin pionts and rivet detail

for lights i now have green strobe on tail red strobe on top and bottom and green solid on right front and white solid left front all easily seen in daylight , will look even better when i get a set off phil

The TT MD530 is indeed a good platform for a first scale build (it was for me, anyway ). It's not difficult to put together, and although the level of detail isn't great, you can make it pretty nice, and there are lots of subjects, both military and civillian to model. The only real drawback is the configuration of the mechanics/fuse precludes building a cockpit. As noted above, it's a perfect fit for the Raptor 50 Titan, and fits the 50 V2 by taking 7/8" off the fuselage boom. I swapped the T/R to the scale side on mine, which is an easy conversion as well. There are a few of these flying with TRex mechs from what I have seen. As far as power, I fly at 5000 feet, and with an OS50-H and 30% it flies fine, but it's definitely scale, not acro! Mine comes in a bit over 9lbs w/o fuel.

A couple of pics:

Hello All-

Just thought I would throw my 2 cents in on finding parts for this body. Three weeks ago my engine quit on me about 15 feet above the ground in a steep turn. I had just changed fuels and did not run it long enough to make sure it was running right. Plus its hard to find fuel that's worth a crap in Germany. I was flying pretty slow, so the best I could do was get it right side up before it hit the pavement pretty hard. The skids took all the shock, breaking them off at the plastic part that bolts to the frame. I talked to someone at heliproz about getting parts, and he told me to order the skid kit. So far these are the only parts I have seen for this fuselage kit. It was about 25 bucks, so that was no problem, however when it showed up it ended up being 3 times the work I thought it would be. First off the color did not match at all. This was not a big deal because I painting the body with the same paint we use on the helicopters at work. The next big problem was the same plastic brackets I broke were 3/4 of an inch wider that the old ones. I had no choice but to cut them in half and remove the 3/4 of an inch and epoxy them back together. I was skeptical if this would hold, but so far so good. I don't know if maybe these parts were for a 60 or 90 size body, but just thought I would share my story in case someone ends up having to replace the skids, make sure you get the right size!

I had to replace the skids on mine after a nose-in landing got rough in some wind. I ordered the parts from Ricks (I got two sets...), and they bolted right in. This was before paint and detail work on mine, so I didn't pay that close attention to the paint, but it looked like the same OD as the originals. I wonder if you got a set for the 60 size MD500 Defender rather than the 50 size MD530??
