Scale 1/48 Apache coaxial
So I got this 1/48 scale model for Xmas and I thought, could it fly?
Now a 1/48 scale apache is too narrow for a LAMA/CX to fit
because the side by side motors on the CX and Servos on the LAMA make it a 1/32 scale fit only.
Then I thought... who says it can't be a 2ch heli? Hitting the parts bin and.....
Here's picks of the layout of components and the section cut out of the bottom.
So far its a nice fit and balance. Althought there will be some gears and stuff exposed underneath.
Next installment of build.
All the guts installed but not permanently secured. Rubber bands before glue
Notice I only have a 1/4 inch clearance between blade and tail!
This meant I had to use a different battery to fit it in the nose.
I guess the NiCAd will be OK its what ships with the 2ch heli's,
this one is from a SYMA 9093.

RE: Scale 1/48 Apache coaxial
IT FLIES! IT FLIES!
Hand launch from my hand over the bed and she slowly moved forward and with a slow left hand turn.
I wanted forward movement and the slight turning I should be able to get rid of with trim.
I can't get at the RX easily and I don't remember if there even is any adjustment on it.
Needs some decent landing skid addded, the model gear will just break.
Now just add all the pretty bits....
