Default Uncle Wessex on his way from New Zealand

Limited edition, hand crafted, scale Wessex HC2 is enroute to my hangar from New Zealand. I'll be back with lots of pics when he arrives. Fuselage is 1400mm LOA. It's the result of hours and hours of work by a very talented chap named Gavin. Complete with fully functionaly main LG and tail wheel. All critical plywood foundationing epoxied in place. It's going to be done up for scale competiton as an RAF search and rescue heli in yellow livery. It will have the correct four blade head and T/R and a fully functional operating winch.

Default RE: Uncle Wessex on his way from New Zealand

I received my Wessex HC2 fuselage kit from Gavin yesterday. It made the transit from New Zealand in a record time of three days via EMS express mail. The shipping container is a cabinet maker's work of art and protected the awesome fiberglass true 1/11 scale Westland Wessex HC2 with some of the smartest packing schemes I've ever seen. This model is as good or better than any of the high priced scale helis out of Europe (i.e. Vario, etc.) The Gel coat is free of pin holes and contains all the major panel lines and surface textures needed to replicate the full size Wessex. It included a set of beautifully vacuum formed window glazing with the proper bubble shapes every where they appear on the big brother. I opted for the wonderful, hand-crafted, main and tail landing gear assemblies. They all have the oleo action shock absorbing mechanisms as on the full scale HC2. More pics later today.

Anyone here know the RAF paint code for the yellow finish on the old Westland Wessex HC2 SAR heli? Any helpful input welcomed gratefully.
