Default UH-1 "Huey" Fuselage adapted to Blade SR

Recently purchased the Blade "SR" and Huey fuse designed for the Blade "CP" series. Thought it would be a piece of cake to adapt, but having issues. Would like to keep the fuse in tact (without cutting off the front to accommodate the LiPo pack.) Any suggestions from someone who's done it successfully?

Thanks in Advance,

Nikita

Your going to have to mount the battery under the frame beneath the motor. I think you'll also be adding some lead in the nose also to get it to balance right.

You'll have a UH-1 sitting on tall legs with a big blue battery hanging under it. You might want to just buy a CP

Amish,

Think you might be right. Looked at the great job a couple guys have done with the conversion, but the UH-1 fuse is such a little beauty, hate to mess it up. Time to go check out the "CP" forums and read...

You got a good idea Nikita but the SR is so different than a CP. As you know the SR is so tail heavy it need the weight of the battery sticking far forward. I think the extra weight of a scale fuselage will just make the tail heaviness worse.

The Mini Titian has a battery placement like the SR but I just can't see where they put the battery in these UH-1 Mini-Titans.

From my uh-1b

it works but not easy, I had to cut the fuselage and the tail boom to make it fit.

see more pics at my blog:

Ouch!

Looked good though.
How did you address the tail heaviness?
How well did she fly before the crash?

Hey have you seen this combo on ebay? At $566.00 I've been tempted to get it.

I tied a heavy object on the nose.

The T-REX looks great, I think you should get that if you could afford. The EFlite fuselage is not very high quality, very easy to break.

The Blade SR fly pretty well, very stable. However, the tail motor is quite noisy, I think I like the belt better than direct drive.
