My goodness, that's some serious hp with that 4cyl eng! Really enjoy the photos of your build. What's next?

This is a really big plane. Had I known it was going to be this big, I may have scaled it back a bit. Looking a a piece of paper on my bench isn't as large as a 3 dimensional model in front of you.

Here is my rudder control arm. My dad welded this up for me as I don't have a welder.

Well I guess 162"ws is on the big side! Maybe it will be twice as much fun as flying one Chipmunk! Don't think you need a welder ether, when your dad can weld like that. That's a rudder rod on the pull-pull? Springs to the tailwheel? Did you get a bigger trailer to haul your planes? Keep the photos coming, nice to see the progress.

Subscribing. My first kit build was a control line Sig Super Chipmunk when I was a teenager. Awesome project you have going there.

Yes the rudder is on a P/P. The tailwheel is half of a .40 size (extra 300) gear.

As for the trailer, yes I had to buy a bigger one. (6x12 V-nose) after putting the Chippy in it a should have gone with a 14'er. here is my old 6x10. as you can see she's quite full.

I've got four projects line up for this winter. The Chipmunk is on this list but it is the lowest priority of the four. I knew this would be a long build but I have to get my old trialer ready to sale, improve a bad design on my bronco gear, outfit the new trailer, and work on the chipmunk when time and supplies/money allow.

more to come.
Kelly

Kelly,
You are inventive and creative! Your trailer is nicely organized. You must have worked for a sardine packing fish company at some time! Great utilization of space. Glad the Chippy is on your do list for the Winter. Not to get off the subject but do you have any photos of your Bronco or a link to a description/specs on it?
So what's next after you finish up the tail wheel on the Chippy? Merry Christmas. Rick

Here is a build thread on my Bronco http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-w...efurb-job.html

The trailer wasn't normally packed that tight. I was headed to Joe Nall. There wasn't much floor showing when I was done.

That wasn't my first attempt either. HEHE

Kelly,
Thanks for the Bronco link, lots of work to get the gear working (nice work on the doors). To bad about the eng out landing. You have those engs dialed in now? Both props turning the same direction or one counter rotating? I imagine it's a lot of fun to fly.
On the trailer, I don't think I saw any floor (you used it all!). Going to Joe Nall this coming year? Ok, What next on the Chippy build? Rick
