info about Drone (BTT3 Banshee)?
Hi!
I am restoring a aerial target drone and making it an rc plane.
This is a BTT-3 Banshee drone from Meggit Defense systems.
The thing is that i have to build a whole new fuselage from less than scratch.
I was hoping to get this project to as near scale looks as i could, but i need info about it.
Pictures, measures and general info is much appreciated

RE: info about Drone (BTT3 Banshee)?
Not too long ago, read an article in a 1970's era American Aircraft Modeler about some one who restored a WW2 era target drone. He found out they were essentially very crude and heavy. Most of his were made via the Frankfort Arsenal in Northern Illinois. No one there now remembers the era, only the 1980s' are considered late for them.

As it happens, I used to fly these, back in the '80s.
Not sure that I can give you precise details of dimensions, mind.
Might be able to help with other, specific, questions.

Following the link you provided I found a pdf file on the banshee.
http://www.meggittdefenceuk.com/PDF/...t%20system.pdf
Wingspan: 2.49m
Lenght: 2.95m
Height: 0.91m
Wing area: 2.42m^2
A google search and you do get some pictures. Try searchin on "strordrone" or "dronetjenesten" and you get links and pictures from Norway too.
Reminds me about my time in the RNoAF, in the model airplane workshop (provided for the conscripts use in their spare time)there was the mould for a "MATS" small target drone.

Heisann Himat! Hilser fra Aalesund
I received the answer from the London Museum Of Science this morning already
They supported me with a lot of information regarding the Banshee. I now have the 3 way view of the aircraft on a grid background. with this and the already known measures, i can let the computer make the rest of the drawing.
Now i am looking for a company here in Norway with a 5 axis milling machine, able to mill a plug for the fiberglass fuselage. I am really looking forward to go on with this project.
Thanks again for all feedback!!

Thanks from Førde!
Interesting project, a 1-1 scale model , I look forward to follow the progress. As for a company with a 5 axis milling machine, EasyForm (Easyform.no) colocated with the Stadt Towing Tank look like they have the machine and knowledge from their website. Probably others have too, but I dont know ablout any as I'm not in that kind of businesss. The question is the cost, it's a huge mill! On the plus side, Stadt is not that far from Aalesund.
