Profili users questions
I got confused looking at all the different levels of licenses you could get and sent the venders an E-mail that they never answered (not a confidence building situation) so I'm looking for that info here. Iwant to plan a wing with all the holes I want, building tabs, and spar locations, and taper. I also want to do the same with fusalage plans. I would like to get a library of common or popular airfoils too. Can someone guide me to what license Ineed?
I also ran across another software that was similar to Profili but Ilost the link. I would appreciate that info too.
And finally, I saw a way, on this forum Ibelieve, to do some of the things Profili could do (generate a plan of the intermediate ribs between the root and tip of a tapered wing) with regular CAD software. Anyone have an idea where that was?
Having your hard disk die and not doing any kind of backup sucks.
TIA

RE: Profili users questions
The free download can do most of what the full version can do, including the intermediate ribs on a tapered wing, even with different foil sections at the root and tip.
I use it to generate the foil sections only, then export them via DXF files to AutoCAD and use the CAD software to draw in the cutouts for spars holes tabs etc. It comes with a huge library of foils.

I use the free download for airfoils in CAD format, and import them and do the rest in AutoCAD.
You can see the curves of the airfoils as well (CL vs AOA and CL vs Cd).
There is a search by name or dimensions of the airfoils in the library, which are many.
I am not aware that Profili offers anything for fuselages.

RE: Profili users questions
That's good to know. I've got to download it and try it out. I used Autocad 10 years ago, hope I can remember some of it.
Thanks.
Thanks.

RE: Profili users questions
I think I've got a direction to go now.
Check out Profili's website, they go into how it can do fusalage formers.
And thanks to you too.
As Ithink about it, I got most of my lost info from the links in the stickys on this forum. Time to go searching again.
