    Was a fellow at RCGroups who did the same but like two years ago using laminated materials for some WW1 model.

    Not familiar with Jim Alaback. You are correct in that, since 2007 Autocad, has been slowly but steadily changing its wicked, wicked ways. In fact Inventor has pretty much moved to the forefront of the dedicated 3D game.
