Default scratch newb

Hi guys, I'm going to try scratch building and i'm sure i'll have lots of questions. As i'm working on my other projects I want to start gathering the plans and wood needed to start.
I'm looking for a 1/4 scale Fly Baby or Spacewalker (single seat) that comes with a BOM. It's also going to be my first Gas plane finally...lol

Thanks

drube,

If I built either one of those, and I think they are very good choices, I would put a G-26 in them.

Have fun!

Ah, OK. I hadn't thought of that since I just reach over to my well stocked bin of balsa and ply or go into the box of stocked goodies. So I've not had to actually assemble a Bill Of Materials other than for any model related projects for more years than I can remember.

I went ahead and got the Fly Baby plans because I don't see them around here. Can't wait, now I just need to finish the RV-4.Off to find some build threads.

drube,

From a flight characteristic I would say they are pretty much the same. The choice would be relative to ease of construction. On that, I cannot help as I have built neither. One point in favor of both is that they have straight (non-tapered) wings. Makes rib construction MUCH easier.

Enjoy!

Thanks, can't wait to start.I found someinfo onthe" Chuck Cunningham" pl-957Fly Baby but no build threads. I may have to start one because I know i'll need help.lol
I found these beautiful Fly Baby's built by Russmall and i'm definitely inspired! If only mine will come out half as nice i'll be happy.
I hope Russmall doesn't mind me posting his pics.

I built a Cunningham Druine Turbulent, which is often mistaken for a Fly Baby. I have very high regard for his design skills.
