Default Servo Hatch question

Hey guys,

I have been working off and on building a CG Super Chip. At first I was going with the Bell crank system. But since I have seen so many going to dual ailerons. Sooooo I decided to go that route as well. My question is what material should I make the hatch from? I made a template from 1/32 balsa and made the hatch from some 1/32 Basswood, but the balsa seems to be stronger. Or could I just FG the basswood and it be good enough?

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question lol. I have built a few planes before, but none with dual ailerons.

Default RE: Servo Hatch question

I have used 1/8" lite ply for the servo cover. I used 1/8" Baltic Birch ply if I mount the servo to the hatch. If you want something thin just to cover the opening, have you tried styrene sheet?

Buzz.

If your hatch is used for a servo mount use the light ply, if it is just a hatch to cover the servo balsa is fine.
