Default Scratch building F-14 Tomcat 1:5.5

Since 2006 i work parallel to other projects at the drawings of a extremely detailed F-14 Tomcat. With the target, to built a full functional scale aircraft with all details and a perfect weathered paint finish.
I know for certain, it's a very ambitious goal. But many sucess scratch build projects and a lot of idealism make me optimistic.

powerfull regards, Rainer Willisch / Switzerland.

by the way: you d'ont must be crazy for a project like this - but it help. :-)

Basic for my 3d model was 3-side drawings, tousands of fotos and Tamya models 1:32. For cross-sectional view, i sliced and traced the Tamya model. With this cross-sectional views, i built the 3d model in rhino/flexicad 3d modeling software.

Very good build going here
It is hard to replicate a model from a small kit,
I used a ICM 1/72 model for my Large MiG-25 Foxbat

It's a ordeal but it's not witchcraft. One thing is, it mustn't fall to pieces. The other thing is: work accurate as possibel. If you scale the modelup from 1/72 to 1/6gets one millmeterto 12 millimeter!

By the way: the fuselage parts of my Tomcatare done.Next step is to glue therear section together. This partis planned for september.Of the moment i'm very busy about thelast scale details of my extreme detailed Flite Metal covered F-100 Super Sabre

Here is a appetizer and it gives a idea how depth detailed the F-14 will be. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11161455/tm.htm
