A few reasons
First my job is crap, strange that they pay me for it, and I like to be creative so I 'm creative at home.
Next, industrial ARF's are very well made and finished but they are way out of shape compared to the aircraft's name they carry.
Many times they look simply awfull, often they are stretched, horizontal tail too low to name some of it (I'm talking about aerobatic modells). And all this for the sake of 3d flying whitch is fantastic in terms of skill but to me sooooo ugly.
If there is a modell on the market that suits me, it's or too large or too small .
And I love to be creative so I design it from the bottom, make modell in Shalitworks, components to mill, mill to assembling bord.....
The guys of my club think I'm crazy and they are propably wright
But I like to be creative

Since this thread is about building how about listing your current projects? I'll even go first:

I have a Top Flite Cessna 182 on the board over 50% finished.
I have started building the Builder's crutch for a 1938 Ryan SC-W and already have the gear built ready for paint and/or covering and the short kit back from the laser cutter.

Who's next?!
