Planning next build Hostetler Pitts S1-11: looking for recs for kit cutter
I'm starting to plan my next build, a 35% Hostetler Pitts S1-11b. I have the plans. All my builds thus far have been from a kit with plans and instructions. I don't really want to cut all the parts for this build, that may come with a build down the road. I'm looking to get a kit, maybe a short kit but I think I'd rather have the full wood kit if I'm not risking having to replace alot of poor quality wood. My nearest LHS is about an hour 1 way and they don't have too much of a selection of wood.
I've done some searching on the forum and have read a few threads so I know this isn't a new question. I've seen several opinions about different places, and they seem to be different over different threads and over time.
I see that Precision Cut Kits and National Balsa both have kits for this plane. Does anyone have experience with kits from these guys in the recent past? Any opinions about the quality of the cut and wood? Anyone else I should be looking at for this kit?

Precision cut kits wood selection is horrible. I typically replace nearly all of the sheet stock they give you in a full kit be usse its so dang heavy. Not to mention every kit i have ever gotten from them (over a dozen) have incorrectly cut parts or missing parts, and getting them to recut or replace those parts is impossible.
I havent gotten a kit cut by national balsa, but the wood ihave orderd from them has always been high quality with fantastic customer service and will be my go-to source for future kits

My experience with kit cutter's have not been very pleasnt. All seem to have similar issue's. Bad wood selection, wrong cut's, parts missing, and getting corrections from any are a real pain. So now I just do my own. One day is usually all it takes to cut my own. All that is needed is a band saw, a table router, spray adhesive, and a few copies of the main parts. All the stick stuff is real quick. Need some advice on set up and such give me a shout. Glad to help.
