Amazing Grace, Canard slope soarer
Canard slope soarer!! I Have scratch built a slope soarer from RCM in the past, Ohio just doesn't have any windy slopes. Sorry purests im putting an OS 46 on the tail. I found the Amazing Grace plans on Ebay for $12 shipped!

Moved to Scratch Building since this isn't a glider anymore.
Looks like a nice conversion. I gather you made the fuselage a lot bigger than the plans show. It doesn't look very "glider like" anymore with it being that fat.

I have built and flown Canards for about 7 years. They tend to be very tail heavy. I suggest moving the engine forward as far as possible. Expect to add ballast weight forward of the canard wing. A pusher engine tends to overheat on the ground, but is OK in the air. My rule was to get it flying within 30 seconds of start-up. I used a tractor prop of the identical design for engine tuning, then changed props and took off. Good luck. A Canard is a lot of fun.

Interesting.
Looks something like one I did for slope flying decades past from a JLPS plan. Was designed for an 049. Just modded it to slope. Flew fine. One great thing is that it never tipped stalled.

This design "hangs" the engine cylinder just outboard of the fuse for cooling. I know these tend to overheat, I am predicting (never had a canard before) I want higher rpm than compared to a tractor prop. Here is the progress. I am adding the vertical stabs this week and hopeful cover the wing next week! The shinden calls for two punds of ballast in the nose. This plane has a ballast bay set up for it, it is getting heavy though.

This was my first canard and I was trying to build it from an article. It crashed on the first flight. This was the last glow airplane I am going to build. I have successfully built and launched another canard aircraft.
