I mount an engineer's slitting saw ... cheap from eBay ... in my bench pedestal drill. The slitting saw is fastened into an arbor, to allow me to use it in the drill's chuck.
A few blocks of wood, clamped to the drill's table, serve as simple guides with which to cut accurate strip-wood.

RE: AVRO monoplane ... from floorboard.
Thanks for the kind words, chaps.
I'm minded to have a go at a Curtiss Pusher look-alike, using similar techniques. Probably around 2 m span ... maybe .90-sized, though I might get away with an Enya .60 four-stroke.
Never had a pusher; it's one of those things that I keep promising myself that I'll investigate ... like float-flying. Been thinking about the latter for 15 years, or more.

Was this a model of a specific Avro airplane or just a 'sorta looks like' kind of plane? It's fine either way, but I was wondering if this had something based in history so that I could do a little research on the original? I like the triangular fuselage, like a 1912 Blackburn monoplane.
Didn't Blackburn become AVRO somewhere down the line???
Thanks,
Bob

Not specific ... just "looks-something-like".
Yes, a bit Avro, a bit Blackburn ... the problem with Blackburn is that it takes ages to paint the lettering on the sides. Only four letters in AVRO.

Bogbeable, I like your sense of humor.
I've been working off and on creating plans for a 1912 Blackburn monoplane because I liked the unique shape of the fuselage. I wish it had a longer nose moment for balance. It's amazing that the original airplane is flying even after 100 years....

We'll keep you in mind, Barry. But this is a 'work in progress' if you know what I mean.
In the mean time, if you want to see a really big, museum scale build of the Blackburn, drop by this link:
