Default stephen arko 1/4 scale sport build Question

hi
i am building this plane from plans a stephen akro 1/4 sport scale 75-90 2 stroke or a 80-1304 stroke i needto get about 1-1/2 to 2" more in the cowl area or motor box the fuel tank 16 oz sits in the motor box area and i plan on using a DLE 30 which has a total lenght of 6.37 " where do i start the main frame that is the motor box and wing saddle how and where would i lenght it thanks rye

Rye, Extend the doubler forward the distance you need and enlarge the motor mount surface, the vertical part on the doubler, to fit the DLE. Use 1/8 aircraft plywood for the doubler and at least 1/4 aircraft plywood for the firewall. Epozy the motor mount to the double and use hard wood triangular stock where it meets the doubler. You don't need to make a slot. Leave the wing saddle where it is. Balance the plane to the same CG shown on the plans. Dan.
