Want to try Autocad for a month?
Hey gang
I have seen several here mention they'd like to try autocad, you can do it free on a trail version for a month. BUT if you choose to do this, it doesn't do much good if you don't know anything at all about it. The free version requires a 64 bit computer. The way to do it is to know that any question you have, you can find the answer to online or here. You'll get the answer faster online though. In fact the program allows you to ask how to do anything on it, and it will explain it through the program. The trial version does only last a month though.

Draftsight is so much like AutoCAD just only an early version. If you do not have some CAD in your background DS is a very good way to learn ... Full blown AutoCAD is a bit of a load for someone if it is the first experience.

AutoCAD was hard for me back when I started; however, the help function can make you roll smoothly on basic staff (90% is basic staff repeated one thousand times) in about one week of dedicated practice.
