    RCM Plans- somethings happening!

If you look at this thread http://www.modelflying.co.uk/forums/...s.asp?th=93392 you will see that someone has received a reply that the plans may be availables soon, and also stating the new owners have lost records of outstanding orders. Seems you need to contact them and they are now replying to e-mails.

It certainly would be nice if this turns out to be true.

Well in the correspondence someone received this week it says RCM got new owners==this is a quote from what was reported---

"Our system has been down for quite some time. We were locked out of our entire system. We were unable to access the admin portion of the website, emails (which we lost most of), orders, etc. We are trying to resolve the problems with our hosting company. We hope to have all problems resolved by sometime in March. The email portion of the website restarted on 02/14/14.

RCM Plans is very recently under new management and we are seeing to fixing the problems and also to refunding anyone who has not yet received their money back. If someone chooses to receive the product that they ordered, we will also help them with this."

So it would appear to be necessary to e-mail them again now if you have outstanding items not received!

There is a big difference between "Under new management" and "new owners".
However, I do hope something positive does happen.
The RC community is being deprived of a great resource.
Additionally, I wonder how many designers are being deprived of their royalties.

Typically that would be "none". Folks that sold their designs to the magazines typically also sold the publishing rights as part of the publishing aggrement. They didn't get royalties for copies sold by the magazine companies. They still retained rights to the design if some kit maker were to produce the model though.
Witty saying to be plagarized shortly.....

Yes, generally, plans and construction articles are paid for one time, and the magazine retails all publishing rights as well as the rights to sell plans. The designer/writer gets nothing after being paid for the article.
