Back a few years ago I sold everything I had to one gentleman to clear the house out of all my stuff and give him a real head start on the hobby. Today while looking for a set of micor screwdrivers I found the pattersn and plans hanging on the wall for a Not For Sale. I too have built so many that I never had to pull out anything to help align anything and have toyied with building various sizes. One month ago after spending a couple weeks in the hospital I decided to break out the balsa again. Well to get started I purchased a Goldberg J3Cub and will see how this turns out. But I feel that the J3Cub might get put aside and head over to the Not For Sale. Without a doubt one of the best I ever built and flew. Will try to get pictures of process. Never quit building that 's what keeps up off the street at night and out of hospital .

Actually, I put in 4 flights yesterday. Every time I try to down load a picture, my computer locks up. I emailed the moderator at RCU but got no response. That's why I haven't got any further.

No, no luck so far. I've got over 100 photos but every time I try to send one to RCU, my computer locks up. I can send them to friends with no problem. I sent an email to RCU but they don't bother to respond.
I have flown the plane about a dozen times and it's a blast! Upright and inverted spins, fast rolls and gentle landings. I covered it in white with orange bands on the wing and tail. Easy to see in the air. I'll keep trying to post....

There are levels of quality in CA hinges as is for everything else. Try the Rocket City heavy duty ca hinges. They are blue in color, and I believe Tower sells them. Much stronger. I gave an NFS to a buddy I built in 1992, and it's still flying. No hinge failures.

Well, I discovered the problem. My camera was set for too high a resolution, so they all need to be changed. I don't have time now because I'm two weeks away from directing a warbird fly-in here in Missouri.
I may try to change them all after the flying season is over, or maybe 1 or 2 on an occassional basis.

Died? Looks like it went out like a Spartan warrior!
Yes, the smaller one had a great first season. Still trying to get it to stop descending during inverted flat spins. Slowly moving the balance point rearward. All of that came to an abrupt halt when the first snow fell in Kansas City. That's the official start of building season.
Here's the next one: 60" wing, 48" length, 5" to 3" ailerons, and 4.5" elevators. Rudder is about 8" long. DLE 20 for power. That's the engine next to the firewall for a perspective. Weighed everything but the covering and the control linkages and it is under 8 pounds. Color scheme will be a white base with red panels in the middle of the upper wing, and a red band roughly centered between the back of the wing and the front of the stab. Will post pictures again when finished.
