Default building my own seawind

I am going to attempt to build my own Seawind style air plane. It will be a basterdized version as I have a wing from a profile airplane and a fuselage from another airplane.

I have a couple of questions.

Q1. I want to use a nitro engine but want the fuel tank in the fuselage. I assume I need a pump?

Q2. How do you waterproof balsa construction? I don't know if this plane will ever see water but was curious.

Thanks
Chad
