Huge fan of the red box and I scaled one out about 20 years ago. Rebuilt the tail , added the rear window, full interior, gear pods ect .
I love your project but confused, can you please share some details.
You show the original red box, I assume nothing was used from that kit but the plane were enlarged to build a larger sport version like the red box, just larger ?
Love the idea and the your build was very enjoyable

The box was just a pic I downloaded for people who weren't familiar with the "Red Box". No parts were used from the 60 size. The PDF plan was downloaded from Outerzone, then the tiling feature was used to print it out at 120%. There was a lot of taping to get a useable plan. The TF plan is missing most of the fus. formers. fus. top view and wing ribs so I had to draw them. It had the wing root airfoil but not the tip so I drew out the tip to get templates to cut the foam wing. There weren't turtle deck formers so the decks were cut from foam and fiber-glassed. The firewall was moved back to accept the First Place. The original kit used a plastic cowl so I made a fiber-glass one for my 120% version. Right now she is waiting to be repaired after the firewall was torn out on a dead stick landing. I'm also going to use the opportunity to install new retracts and move the gear forward. I also have a Red Box P-51B (with a Veco .61) and a P-39 (with a RJL .61).

You did a fantistic job of expanding it to a large size and overcoming the lack of drawings fopr the formers and ribs.
