Default What materials to use?

I am figuring on doing my first foam scratch build, and it is going to be a HP 0/400 (from a RCM&E plan), but the plan says to use 6mm Depron and I cannot find any suppliers in my country (or any cheap suppliers in other countries).
I am just wondering if 6mm foam-board, or 6mm PVC foam sheets would work as well as Depron, if not, what can I use other than those?

Thanks

BTW, I live in New Zealand (if that helps at all)

Not sure what is available in your country ( Depron has seemed to fall off the earth ) but I would take some pink insulation foam and hot wire cut some sheets to whatever thickness I needed. A hot wire bow is very easy to make. Use this stainless steel wire and for power, a car battery charger will work. A bit crude of a setup but with some experimenting will yield good results.

Hobby King lists a variety of foam that it describes as a depron substitute. Best of luck on the build, I'd love to see it.

Pink foam cut down to 6mm would have just about Zero strength,, that's a bad recommendation IMO

Don't be so sure. The 150 XPS seems to be the most common hardware store variety and where did I say 6mm?

You are welcome to read it a second time.

Found this on Facebook today. Looks like pink foam is a very viable material.

The "pink foam" is actually available in all sorts of densities if you source it. It's basically "high density floor insulation foam" (extruded). Standard may be #250, I cut my foam core wings in #500, I have to order it especially though. I thought that was worth mentioning. A common in Imperial may be "high load 60". Yes - there is a great difference in the density of foam available, remember that the higher density (harder) the heavier it gets.
