FlyerInOKC - There is not much to the fuselage of this aeroplane at this stage. Just waiting for the glue to dry...
I got the 3/16" x 1/2" Balsa glued to the bottom of the fuselage.

Some more work done on the back of the fuselage, closing the structure with 3/16" balsa sheets cut to accommodate the horizontal stabiliser. The 1/8" x 3/8" stringer was also glued into place.
I also got triangles in the fuel tank compartment and added "former" F2A.

I found out that the wing rib is wider then the rib drawn in the fuselage section.
I spent some time to get the wing into place matching the fuselage...
I then got plywood section for the dowels to hold to.

All Day Dan - Thank you. There is no option repositioning the wing forward, so the leading edge stays where it is. CG will be recalculated.

I attached the wing using blind nuts and wing screws in lieu of the rubber bands. A string was used to verify centre position and a metal screw was used to pull the blind nut into place until the Epoxy dried.

Engine and pump test mounted,
firewall triangles glued,
plywood plate (for strengthening the fuel tank floor where the LG hole located) is glued into place,
Firewall drilled for throttle link and crankcase pressure tube.

The canopy arrived and it looks as it will be a good fit (ordered from parkflyerplastics.com).
I build up the curve over the firewall to fit it to the fuel tank hatch, I also made plywood tabs to keep the hatch in place in lieu of rubber bands (by using nylon screws and lock nuts).

Finishing touches on the fuel tank hatch, including sanding, checking that the throttle link is not interfering with the hatch legs, fitting the screws and fuel proofing (using Epoxy finishing resin).

FlyerInOKC - I never had a need to pigment my fuel proofing, but your idea is solid solution.
I made the "nose ring" and build up the nose section from scrap balsa.

I didn't have a chance to post, so here I am posting few days progress.
Some final sanding to the fuel hatch, and installation of rudder and elevator servos.
When I looked into the exit for the rudder pushrod as designed, it was going to compromise the horizontal stabiliser strength (pushrod above this surface).
I decided to mirror the elevator pushrod exit and have it going under the horizontal stabiliser.

Some photos I missed earlier on, the checking the tail to wing alignment;
I made the rudder with new plywood attachment point for the control horn in the new location;
I completed the installation of the rudder and elevator servos.
