new to CAD...any suggestions?
Hello all,
I'm looking for an inexpensive ( or free ) but usable CAD program to get my bearings on as i am just a beginner at CAD. I just want something to get used to the tools and then plan to move up after a couple of minor projects. I would also like to have enough sophistication to at least get somewhat competent for my eventual move up to a more advanced program. Thanks for the help!

Please start by using the Search function for this board. Go to Search and enter the key word "cad" and limit the search to the CAD forum and you'll get more info that you ever realized could exist on one topic.
The choice of CAD for the first timer is one of the most popular topics on this board. It's all been said before.... and more than once for that matter. Come on back when you have something specific and we'll be happy to argue for your benefit and entertainment...
