Dan,
I built an electric Chipmunk this year. It is based on the Homebuilt version built out of Quebec [link=http://www.super-chipmunk.com]super chipmunk site[/link].
I am now in the process producing kits of my electric version of it.
It spans 45" and has a rediculous rate of climb on an AXI 2820-10 on 10 cells.
There is a better picture of it in the NEAT coverage in MAN, January 2004.
I know that the Dynaflite Chipmunk has also been successfully converted to electric.

I've just finished the Beta test-model, and, later this week, I will be ordering the first production kits.
Here are pictures of the beta-test model, with both tails that come with it.
