BF109 - Electric build
Thought I might share my current project of designing and building
a BF109F-2 electric for speed 400 or Mega 16.
Here is the project so far:
Specs are:
Wingspan 31"
Wing area 158 SQ. In
Length 24.5"
Wing loading ~ 18 oz. / sq. ft.
A complete building sequence can be followed on my web page at

A line drawing of the plan and side view taken from the AutoCAD drawing I
am working from.

RE: BF109 - Electric build
This looks like a very promising project. Would it be possible to get mor einformation on this model? I have been very interested in a scratch built BF109 electric for some time now.

RE: BF109 - Electric build
docnovacane,
I designed this model because I wanted an electric BF109 that would
fly well on a stock speed 400 brushed motor OR be a super performer
on a brushless.
Since I already have a couple Mega 16/15/5t motors and HE1100 battery
packs I designed the airframe around this power system.
I started with a good 3-view drawing of the BF109F and a profile
side view. I imported these images into AutoCAD at the desired
scale of 31" wingspan and began developing construction drawings
on a new layer.
I have built a smilar plan, (a mega powered P51ish racer) of the same proportions
and it has been a great flyer.
See my web site for all the construction photos of the BF109 to date.

RE: BF109 - Electric build
Are you going to be offering the plans for this model on your website like the others? Where do you look for good scale drawings? What is the best way to print these out, becasue i dont have access to a plotter?

RE: BF109 - Electric build
I locate good scale drawings mostly by extensive searching via google.
Here is one site that I visit regularly that has a large collection of 3-view
drawings. I used the BF109F drawings from this site and color profile
from another.

I will offer plans for my speed 400 BF109 when it has been flown
and "debugged".
Plans that I offer are generally 1:1 PDF's. For best reproduction, they are
intended to be printed full size. While most people don't have a large
printer/plotter at home, you can put the PDF file on a disk and take it
to a local Quick print business (Office Max, Apha Graphics, Speedy Print) etc.
where they have larger inkjet printers. For a small fee they can get a a nice
full-size print/plot or a plan.
