Auto CAD question.
Good evening folks.I have a question about autocad.
I am a new cad user and i ran in to a problem. Here what i wanted to do and what i got:
I wanted to print out an airfoil in natural size, like for example 12 inch long.
So i scale my drawning to 12 inches and save it and try to print out on my regular printer. I get my a4 sheet size and preview, and click on print. On the print properties page i set to print the file in 1:1 scale so it prints airfoil but 8 inches instead of 12 or for example,7.3/4 long instead of 12.What do i do wrong? How do i print out an airfoil in natural size?
Thanks ahead.

RE: Auto CAD question.
You may have to lie about the paper size, or, paste two sheets together and tell Autocad about the new length.
Or cut the airfoil in half. Print full scale on two sheets, paste together. Add a good join line if you do this.

RE: Auto CAD question.
Also, check your paper size. Most N.American people know about A4 sizing, but can't get it. Typically, the paper will be 'letter' 8.5" x 11" (A4 is slightly larger..) Most printers have a 'no print' zone around teh paper, usually a 1/4" on all sides.
Check both the printer settings on your computer, and the printer set up in acad.
Calibrate your printer too, draw a rectangle 4" x 5" and print it. Does it measure 4" x 5"?
You might have to draw two rectangles (use a separate layer) over the wing template, and print two sheets. and instead of printing 'layout' or 'extence' print 'window' and drag teh window around the two rectangles; separately. then tape them together.
