Default Making Templates?

I've just got a set of plans (RCM #1302, the Southern Eagle) that I'm considering as my first plane from plans (I've built 8 or 10 from kits) and have a question.

The plane has a tapered wing, so each rib is different. How would you go about transfering the wing rib templates from the plans? I would really like to avoid cutting up the plans or making a copy. The plans are on 36 in wide paper-copies would be awkward or expensive. I didn't have the foresight to purchase two sets of the plans.

My apologies in advance if this question has been answered previously - I did try to search for an answer.

Dave,

Check this forum out.

I use seetemp from www.seetemp.com
See me post at the above link towards the bottom.
Also, "Bipe Flyer" wrote a program that will tile print your plans. In order to do this your plans must be scanned into the computer on a huge scanner so that may not work for you.

See the tile print post here.

Good luck,

Wow-talk about fast answers.

Thanks, I've checked the thread that you both directed me to.

Also, don't forget about Kinko's....they can do a large format copy of your plan for about 5 to $7.00. You can then cut the needed paper parts out of the copy and stick 'em onto your wood with rubber cement or 3m brand removable glue stick.

I have tried Kinkos in the past. It was somewhat more expensive. Here in a collage town they also give you a hard time about copying anything that might be copyrighted.

What I would do is use your scanner to scan the ribs and then you can print out as many copies as you want. I know it can take a while to do this but at least you will have a stored copy of the rib on file if you ever want to build another wing sometime.
