Copy Between Layers AC LT2000
Can someone tell me how to copy an item out of one layer into another layer?
I have tried to select an object in the active layer and copy it. I then have been making the layer I want the object to be in active, and paste. Nothing appears.
The help files don't seem to be any help.
I am using AutoCad LT2000.

1. Paste it into the same layer you are copying from.
2. Make sure the item you are trying to move to the other layer is the only one highlighted, then click the Layer dropdown and select the layer you want the item to be in.
If you copy from one layer, it will only paste to the same layer you copied it from. You need to move it to the layer you want it to be on after you paste. This makes it look like nothing is happening if the layer you are copying from is frozen or off when you try pasting.

Or, if something is needed to be seen in two layers [while one is off, both off, etc..], put it on a new layer... so, you have three layers!
Lines onj top of lines is usually a bad thing, but ther are some cases, when it does happen.. but usually two lines of different layers...
