Default MAN Plans

Has anybody bought plans fro Model Airplane News?, I ordered a set about 3 weeks ago and I still have not received them, is this a common problem with them?, I'm slowly getting ticked off.

Hello; The one and only time I used MAN plans, I waited for 6 weeks and when it did come it had Danish postage on it. It had been opened and thoroughly examined by the local post office and re-folded poorly. I don't remember what the plane was, but I never did build it.

If this is how their service is, it will be first and last time I order from them.

MAN does not do the plan copying themselves. They send the work to another company and they do the copy of of the computer. They dont stock the paper plans just the image. They print each set as needed. Thats why it took 5-6 weeks for my set. I was told this when I complained.

Hi
I've ordered several sets of plans from MAN it took around 6 weeks to arrive in all cases. I have no complaints regarding the quality of the plans except one set the bulkheads were not symetrical.

Humm. I guess I'm the only one who got a REALLY bad copy. Took forever to get, and when I got them, they were really bad. Big dark blotches on one side. Impossible to use as the splotches covered important areas. On the other side it gradated to so light the lines dissapeared.
Called and got the run around a few times, so I just gave up and never ordered from them again. Custoemr service isn't too high on thier priority.

WHOO HOO, finally!!, after 4 weeks of waiting I got my plans for the Super Hots, it arrived in a nice mailing tube and the plan is excellent.
I also would also like to say thanks to SR. Tech Editor of MAN, Gerry Yarrish, for looking into this problem, he went as far as getting me a order tracking number and kept me up to date on the status, thanks Gerry.
Nice to know that somebody is looking out for us builders.

For what it's worth, I ordered the 71" S.E.5a plans from MAN on October 13, and they arrived yesterday, November 9. That is a total of 19 working days - and the email order confirmation I got from RCStore.com said Canadian customers (that's me!) could expect delivery in 10-25 working days.

The plans are marvellous - very clean and very detailed. My only small complaint is that the copy of the construction article included with the plans was obviously photocopied or scanned at low resolution and poor contrast (i.e. a "text" mode) so the photos are indistinct to illegible. I am not too worried about this because the plans are clear enough and I can read the text in the article fine.

So, although I have very little interest in the magazine itself (nothing but ARFs and advertising), I have no complaints about the plan service on the basis of one experience.
