An Ugly Duck?
Hello All,
I originally asked this question over in Questions and Answers, but nobody bit. I figger you're my last hope without wasting a sinful amount of balsa...
I have the plans for Das Ugly Stik from RCM which are supposed to be copies of the original design. I love the plane and can't ever see myself not having one in the air or on the bulding board, but I'm thinking about a project...
I would like to build a canard Ugly Stik and I could use some advice on CG (How do you determine where it should be?) and also Fin/Rudder placement. Ideally, the plane would appear to be flying backwards, so I would like to keep them where they are.
I am thinking of a full-flying canards rather than a stab and elevator set-up, which isn't that difficult but could use help the the two items mentioned above.
Since I should have made a million dollars already but someone else keeps thinking of neat thigns just before I do, I'm sure this type of project has been done before. Any guidance of experience would be greatly appreciated.
Ed
