Default Building around powerplants of unknown size?

Hi guys,

I want to design a jet-powered airplane from scratch, but I don't yet own a jet engine. Is it a good route to use manufacturer specs around which to design aircraft? What about additional components: how does one account for those?

I hope my post makes sense.

Thanks in advance!

Default RE: Building around powerplants of unknown size?

Bob Violett makes the drawings available for his kevlar fuel tanks. The specs for turbine engines should be available for download from the manufacturer. personally, I would never attempt what you're talking about. What happens if you spend 100's of hours designing and building the thing an then something doesn't quite fit and there's no good way to make it fit?
