Can anyone recomend any airplane design software that they may have used. I have never used any advanced type software and I know some work better then others. I have pretty much designed the old way with ink and paper.

Check the pinned thread above called Modelling Software for a starter. Also a Search for the term CAD within the limits of the Scratch forum will turn up a vast library of answers about what works for model designing and pricing. It's been a very popular topic over the past couple of years.

Bruce is correct in noting locations. However, I notice this time he did not inform you of the difference as to DESIGN and DRAFTING.

A computer DRAFTING system can be had for a few hundred dollars. A full blown design software should cost several thousands of dollars. Most of us instead use the matter between our ears for the design, as it is cheaper and faster, but not always that accurate.

He usually points out, the terms are not interchangeable.

You mean that gray stuff isn't there to hold my ears apart and my hair up? Well what's left of my hair.

I would add that even a simple CAD drafting program will keeps you mostly honest in your designing.
