Starduster Too by Dario Brisighella
I'm thinking of building a 1/4 scale Starduster Too designed by Dario Brisighella for my next project. This will be the first project from plans only. I have found a kit cutter and supplier for cowl and wheel pants. Have you got any tips for me??
Thanks

It-40 flyer, I just finished my starduster and flew it this summer. This plane builds heavy and I can give you some tips on how to save some weight! Plus the hor. stab needs about 1* positive to fly level. If you would like to talk as there are a number of things that need to be changed give me a call at 503-816-2067. This is a great looking plane but an old design, needs help.

I love biplanes and I love any of the Starduster designs. Back in the '70s, I built a full sized SA750 Acroduster II. You might find this link by Smithcreek helpful since he designed and built about a 30% Acroduster II.

Good luck with your build. Please do a build thread. I would like to follow.

Lone Star,
I also love the Starduster design. I built the RCM Starduster around 20 years ago. The wings really set It off in the sky for me. It was sold to a gentleman here that has a full size Starduster . I am planing on using his paint scheme. He just leaves a short distance from our flying field ( Nighthawks ). He does fly by's and lands so everybody can see it close up for us when we have our fly-ins. Thanks for the info on the Acroduster. I will check it out.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Jeff

That's great Jim that your ready to start building. Are you planing on having it ready to fly by Spring? The Starduster in the pics is local. The pics were taken at one of our Flyins. The upper wing just needs sanded and the Ailerons cut out. I started the lower wing. I am making good progress on it.

It sure does get more awkward with the stabs on. But I wanted to glue the horizontal in place before I put the upper formers on. The fuse can be held in place upside down while installing the h.stab. Right know I am planing on using a DLE 55. I have one in my Slick and it runs great.

The side stringers are done. The horizontal stab is glued in place. The vertical stab is just in place temporary. I plan on doing the landing gear next. I can work with the fuse flat on the table. Then I will build the cabana struts. The last will be the fuse formers and sheeting.
