Default query on wing thickness 4 my 300L

Hello.
I am scratch-building a .46 size 56"span extra300L.
I built the wing a while ago (about a year and a half ago) and have just got around to building the rest of it but for some reason I chose quite a thin airfoil when I made the wing (possibly because I did not have thick foam and was too cheap to get some thicker stuff ). Anyway, the wing is a bit under 4 cm thick at the root and because the 300L's wing tapers so much, it is only like 1.8cm at the tip []. The fuz of the 300L is quite large and draggy though so my query is whether it should still fly ok with the airfoil being a bit thin. I presume it will just fly faster but what are the implications of the fuz being so big compared to the wing thickness?
