TRACING OUT TEMPLATES?
HI I HAVE A QUESTION WHEN TRACING OUT PATTERNS OFF A BLOWN UP SET OF PLANS AND THE LINES ARE A LITTLE THICKER BECAUSE OF BEING ENLARGED DO YOU TRACE THE PATTERNS ON THE INSIDE OF THE LINES OR THE OUTSIDE OF THE LINES? THANK YOU

RE: TRACING OUT TEMPLATES?
I've blown up two planes so far and always cut the patterns out in the middle of the lines. Then when I traced them out on the wood the line I traced was exactly like the original.

RE: TRACING OUT TEMPLATES?
really makes no difference as long as your NOT trying to make a PURE scale model, 1/32. 1/16 won't make any difference, in looks. may give you a slight mismatch someplace down the line, BUT thats what sanpaper is for and shows you how to pay attention and visualize things alittle ahead of time. on the line-- 1/2 way, all require compromise when you try to assemble them. REMEMBER use the same fudge fator all of the time. dick

RE: TRACING OUT TEMPLATES?
If you cut out the template on the outside of the line, trace, cut the part and sand the line off then you are really making the part the full size of the template (with the lines) which would be too large. Dick's right about it not making much of a difference overall but it's sure nice to have the spars fit tightly.
