The printed plans are available on our website along with all of the accessories. The plans cost only $29.99 plus shipping, which is a great price for 2-128" long sheets! Please surf over to [link=http://www.gundersonaerodesign.com/products/shortkits/burton/]http://www.gundersonaerodesign.com/products/shortkits/burton/[/link] and scroll to the bottom of the screen to review the options.

I didnt have any luck printing them, tried myself as well as having someone else do it. Ended up ordering them from Rich, the lack of headache was worth it. If I can ever finish the never ending Extra and the job situation settles in I will be building mine, cant wait to get on it.

So does anybody have any reports on their first flight yet? or how the motor setup worked? i'm trying to build this thing on a tight budget and can get hold of the SPE40 pretty cheap over here, any thoughts on that as my power plant?

If you applied for plans at Gunderaero's site, how long will the wait be. He doesn't acknowledge any inquiries.

I am travelling this week, but I will try to send the plans later today. I apologize for the delay

Thought I would post some pics of my build so far, I re-designed the tail to be more like the full scale aircraft, and deleted the front cockpit, more like the Pitts Python.

Olivier,
I like both of your engine selections. The DA50, beyond being a great engine just looks great. My concern with the DA50 is the prop size. To keep the prop diameter down, a 3-bladed prop would be required, and the DA50 will swing a 20" 3-blade! But again, great engine.
Has anyone had experience with the Fuji-Imvac BT-43?

Richard,
I came across a set of 1/4 scale Model 12 plans about 5 years ago. There are 4 or 5 sheets on 36" paper and very long, some are maybe 8 feet. They were CAD drawn and may be, I was told but don't know what to believe always, Bob Trueworthy's Giant scale reduced to 1/4 scale from the lage CAD files. The plan is complete but all the text had been left off which makes sense if reduced as it would all be wrong.
Would you sell the Model 12 parts, cowl and canopy, wheelpants as a set without buying your plans? I think your plans are great value for what you charge. It would be likely better to build from your plans. This other set I have is just so interesting and rare I am sure. I wish there was a least a title box to confirm their origins. When I got them they were a more rare subject then.
I have a quarter scale Bucker and a Midwest Super Stinker to finish right now so I'm not in need of the Model 12 Parts yet, I am just thinking up the road.
Thanks, John

Hi John!
Sure we'll sell you the cowl, canopy, and wheelpants for your project. I am sure that you are right that building from this kit would be easier, but I can certainly understand an attachment to an old set of plans that you have been eyeing for years! Please see the Pitts product page: [link=http://www.gundersonaerodesign.com/products/shortkits/burton]www.gundersonaerodesign.com/products/shortkits/burton[/link] and scroll all the way to the bottom to see what options are available. If you have any questions, drop me a line at [email protected] or send me a PM.
Cheers,
Rich

Thanks Rich,
Kind of you to sell just parts. I believe using your plans would be best for a lot of reasons but I appreciate your acknowledging my fondness for the ones I have. Yours looks great and I think it will be very successful.
I've had a Model 12 ARF in my hands. That new Cox black/red one. They put as much work into that than any ARF I have ever seen. Still........ .
Regards, John

Just in case this site has not been mentioned before, there are great detail and construction photos. I found some in the "For Sale" category and clicked on the little "pics" cue beside some of the "Sold" Model 12's. There are pictorial histories from the ground up. These will likely be removed at some point.
Really Great site!!
