Help with Edge540
I need help with building this plan for an EDGE 540. The trailing edge that the ailerons attach to don't have much support. Should I cut 1/2" off the wing tips to add a trailing edge spar? It doesn't look like that there's enough support for the trailing edge stress and hinges...
Here's a link to the plan..

RE: Help with Edge540
These plans are a mystery all into themselves on several things. On the rear wing spar i would use 1/4 balsa,or a 1/8 spar with 1/4 balsa hinge doublers,i would then use the NACA 0014 airfoil instead of whatever he shows for the ribs. These plans have been around for awhile and i have yet to see anyone that has posted any information on a build for the plane.
If it where me i would just give Doug a call at D&L Designs and order a set of his plans for the 60 inch Edge he offers. That way you know you have a well proven design that flies well, and a person who really cares about his designs and customers.
