Default 1/8 scale Blohm & Voss Bv 141 CAD Design & Construction

I've started a thread on RCSB covering this project. I've included some CAD tutorial info.
I also cover some of the challenges involved in designing a model of an unusual aircraft
where limited reference materials exist.

Now I get an Access Denied. As I'm not inclined to join a BBS before I read it's content I guess I will not be joining in on your thread.

You just have to register first, this is standard stuff. It's not my site, but
I know the guy who runs it. There is a HUGE store of awesome scale
building info on this site, if you're into that sort of thing I guarantee you
you won't regret registering!

Pat McCurry's build thread on his Do 335 is worth it alone. He goes through
step by step machining the landing gear for that model from scratch!

I would rather read through the site to see if I find it interesting. Thanks.

Whatever. Suit yourself. You're missing out though. It doesn't cost anything.

I wanted to enter this site so bad and see what you had at this time. I have always liked the Blohm - Voss Bv 141 Bombers from the first 1/72 model I build way but when, that I still have. I would love to build a RC scale model of that size for flying

I've not lost anything. If this is such a hot project then the files can be posted here too. I refuse to sign up for a forum that I can't browse first.

OK, so you also go to Barnes & Nobles and read all the books before
you buy as well.

The site has a wealth of info. it is specific to scale building only.

dont know why people are afraid to sign up to forums as you say?
there is nothing there that will harm you, only help?

oh well.

good luck Gary. Am glad you are posting all the build stuff over there, instead
of here.

As a mater of fact I do browse a book before I decide to buy it. Most everyone does. As to who posts where; you are more than welcome to keep all of your posts on "that" forum too!

Hey, just a note to SoCal GliderGuider: it sounds like you really like RCU, or maybe you know the people that run it? Hey -- RCU is a great website. It's got alot of useful info, I log on and use it often. rcscalebuilder.com is also a great site. There is room for both, a place for both. There will be cross-posting and referrals, there's no avoiding it. I see RCU mentioned on rcscalebuider also. Forums should be open, open for any kind of reasonable discussion. Including critisizm, mentions of competing websites, etc. or they shouldn't exist. OTOH, if this really *is* just because you don't want to register, then all I have to say is I pity you my friend. Don't let your fears get the best of you. You will miss out on alot in life.

And BTW, it's alot of work posting the kind of build thread alot of us have going. Posting it in two places is not only silly, it is way too much work.

SoCal GliderGuider,

My name is Mike Chilson and RCSCALEBUILDER.COM is my site. The reason you have to register is RCSB is a non-profit site that has limited resources (mostly bandwidth). So I only want folks on the site that are truely interested in what we are doing there. I am not selling anything, or promoting anything there. It's just my way of "giving back to the hobby" that has been so good to me. Sorry you feel the way you do. Hope you will consider joining if your serious about scale.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike you are more than welcome to run your site as you see fit. I stand by my first statement. I refuse to register to browse a site. It's not personal.
