Hey, look at what I scored on eBay for only $47
Here is the latest addition to my "family" that I won from eBay
Heres a description of it
" This is a scratch built Delta wing, built from R/C Modeler plans in the early 1980's. The R/C Modeler "Force One" article and plans were written and drawn by Laddie Mikulasko at that time. The plane comes with a 1970's era K&B 40 engine, fuel tank and wheels. It weighs 3 lbs and requires a 4 channel radio for steering, elevator, ailerons & throttle. Wingspan is 36 1/2 in and length is 34 1/2 in. The engine has a muffler & 11 X 7 zinger pusher prop shortened to 10 1/8" in order to clear the prop opening. The plane is fast but handles great at slow speeds for easy landings. The removable hatch reveals an opening of approx. 17" X 3 1/2" which is plenty of room for servo's, receiver, batteries, etc. For maximum thrust, the prop should be reversed as my stepson flew it this way to slow it down a little."
It hasn't arrived yet, but I've got a feeling that when it comes, I'm gonna have a ball with this one
I also forgot to mention that this is my very first pusher Prop Plane. For those of you that are familiar with this type of aircraft, is there anything special that I need to know about its flight characteristics?

that's a fun one for sure! flies like any other delta IMO. only things to watch out for are orientation in the air and not to run the engine for too long on the ground or it'll overheat.
had one a long time ago with a piped rear exhaust YS .45

And change the prop for a pusher version. The bottom picture of the engine / prop looks like there is a tractor prop installed.

I ran a 3 bladed prop so it would not hit the ground when landed inverted! You could get some odd looks from people when you land inverted, go flip it over, and take-off again. I bought mine for $1.00. The guy I got it from was getting a new one. We ended up mid-airing and destroying both planes. Mine had rudders so that with lots of throw on everything it would flop around like a dieing fish.
Lots of fun,
Dan

Also remember that the ailerons and elevator will all be up slightly at nutral (about 1/4 to 3/8"). The engine is above the center line and thus wants to push the nose over. This is countered with the up on the controll surfaces. I have built one of these and three of the larger Enforcers, kitted by Balsa USA.

It's a pusher prop that's mounted on the model. It looks like it's mounted backwards, though.

It still hasn't arrived yet, but as soon as it does, this is the very first thing I plan to do to it

while the K&B is a decent engine i can't imagine that plane being any fun at all with the prop reversed. also look into some APC props for better performance.
and put some kind of U or at least an L extension on the muffler to keep the engine from puking all over itself[:'(]

sounds like the prop was mounted that way to make it 'innefficient" and therefor give it less thrust , slowing it down for the youngin
just remember that the horizontal control surfaces are OUTSIDE of the propwash ... so in a stall they only work off airspeed, not engine speed

It finally arrived a few days ago. I've ordered a whole new set of servos from Tower Hobbies and they should be here this week. As for the plane, I've already reversed the prop and it seems to be balanced pretty good. By Friday she should be ready for her maiden
