Hi All..I'm looking for a subsitue cowl for CD40 size. I am building 2 of them.. One is the kit version the other ftrom scratch.
The kit version I was planning on useing a OS 40 LA..If that is not enough power I was thinking of upgrading the engine. Here comes the problem, looks like once in the engine is in, it's in there for good..There is limitted acesss to engine..
Does anyone out there make a fiberglass or plastic cowl for this plane..Te only other opition is to use the one from Ace's 40 size ARF..Which I hear is pretty chessy.. Any suggestion will be greatly appreicted.
Thanks Dan

Dan,
Have you considered building a custom cowl by the lost foam method? It is relatively easy, inexpensive and not all that labor intensive.
