Giant Precedent 240
Hello This area is to cover the development and construction of a Giant Precedent 240. the plane has been enlarged 50% to be a 12' wing span. I have built a Giant Telemaster and this plane flies the same.
I hope to spark a interest in the scratch building crowd and gather some ideas..

And now for the hard part, the wing...........
Most of the ribs are 1/8 lite ply others are 1/8 3-ply near the strut area. No laser cutting here just the trusty dremel saw.

RE: Giant Precedent 240
Is it going to be used for a specific purpose? I have many hours on a T180 used as a trainer being the instructor. It was a bear for the students because of a prevailing crosswind at our field. I had some complaints along the lines "It is too difficult to land in the crosswind. Can't we use the other runway?" My reply usually was "You'll thank me when you fly that P-51..."

The 240 I have now is used as a candy drop or anything fun you can load in the bomb bay. The 360 will have a smoke system and due to the room mabey a camera plane. I built a Giant Telemaster and the size will be about the same. And I agree a cross wind trainer it is! Here are some pics of the 240 bomb bay. Yep thats a softball....[sm=surprised.gif]

Good show on the bigger plane, have done more than one enlargement of a existing design. Currently working n a 124" Ultimate, have done a 202" B-25 a 136" A-26 my father is working on a 14' Pietenpol and there are a few more to finish off also. Is there a engine in mind for the 360 size plane?

Thanks, right now it looks like a 70cc sachs. If money wasnt a issue a 80cc twin would be my prefrence. It wont fly fast but it should climb quickly..
