There I was pleasantly surfin the net and I ran across this site that offered custom made balsa plywood. An Interesting idea ... to be sure. Has anyone else seen this site or have any practical application for that product. By the way, they seem to have a lot of other items. Might be worth taking a quick look. Here is the addy

Balsa plywood was offered in the 1970's by a couple of firms. Only advantage was in that it was sort of rigid, but more difficult to sand. As thin Birch plywood was also available, it died a natural death.

I have made my own balsa plywood to use as fuslage formers for light weight electrics. I made 3 ply pieces and cut the buklheads from it. Worked fine for me and gave me a use for scraps of 1/16 balsa sheets.
