Default getting cross sections from fullsize

Hi Guys,
anyone out there have an easy way of taking fuselage contours off a full size plane?
I have access to the real thing but am wondering how to go about it.. someone MUST have done this before!!

thanks, Jim

Default Yep, it's possible

I've never done this, but have read it somewhere...

Get some BIG pieces of cardboard, and make what amounts to a giant contour gauge. (See the image) A helper will be handy to push the strips up against the airplane, and to "clamp" them in place, while you then trace them onto some equally large paper.

No reason this shouldn't work.

You could also cut the fuselage up into slices, and then trace their outline onto large sheets of paper. This would be very accurate!
