retract system design help!
hi,
I want to have a retract system as follows:
- the gear leg mechanism will be actuated by a linear movement instead of the rotation one used on most of the retracts.
- at cylinder extended the system should be able to lock (some way).
Does anybody have some design to propose?
personally I was thinking of something like that:
-mechanism is actated by the cylinder but the lock in made with an other cylinder like the gear doors one.
my idea is to use this UP2 vales which can close door after retract down in order to use a cylinder as a lock system.
any comment?

RE: retract system design help!
What is driving the requirement for linear actuators? Space?
Seems like an air system (Robart, Spring Air) does this, or am I missing something from your post?
Cheers!
Jim

I need linear actuators not for space but because of the way I want the retracts to come up...I want to use a robart cylinder but I need it to get locked when extended.

RE: retract system design help!
Hello,
I am working a on a design for a electric linear actuator for 1/4 scale robart gear. I can customize the design very easy for stroke length.
What are you requirements.
Doug

RE: retract system design help!
thanks for your help but yesterday I found how to do what I was trying to design.
I will post in the next few weeks the result of the design I will use for my plane.
