Default RE: Airfoil coordinates into Profili software

Hi Troy, I am planing to cut this airfoil in my cnc foam cutter, I need a .PRO .DAT .COR OR .KOO archive. Can Compufoil export it in one of this archives? if not is OK, it would be easier to convert a DXF file.

Thank you for your help in advance

Default RE: Airfoil coordinates into Profili software

Marco,

1) create a file with Notepad and name it S8064.DAT
2) Paste the airfoil coordinates as you did hereabove
3) Save your file --> at this point you have a DAT file compatible with Profili
4) In Profili, Go to the menu --> Airfoils --> Airfoil Management --> Import --> Import Airfoil from a .DAT file

That's it !

If you have difficulties to create the .DAT file then drop a PM with your Email address and I'll reply with the file.

Cheers,
Bernard

I have Profili 2.19. I looked at Airfoils --> Airfoil Management and found the S8036 already listed there.

Does this help????

Troy: it works thank you for your help.

Bob: I use Profili 2.19 too but the s8036 is a diferent airfoil, s8064 is an airfoil designed by Michel Selig for Q500 racing airplanes.
Thank you

Take a look at [link=http://www.tdmsoftware.com/afd]Airfoil Design Workshop[/link]
You can provide airfoil coordinates as a text file and then view, display, modify and output as a DXF file.
Also imports .DAT file formates.
